Actually, both are good to stay. They are very central. If you have good deals <a href="http://gopzpcd.com">Sulntaahmet</a> I&#39;d say go for it. There are plenty of things to see around. You can see all up in an area of about 20 minutes. The Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, Grand Bazaar, etc.For other hand, Taksim is one of the best places for night life. But the thing is Sultanahmet and Taksim are not very far anyway.
